more orange blocks from Making A Lather

The hollow nine blocks are finished using orange and 3 1/2 inch squares.




I have cut orange for  the border of box kite, and garlic knots, the sashings for garlic knots, and the pieces for stashbuster 2023.
I made 2 strip weave blocks in orange for the rainbow scrap challenge.

hollow 9 in purple from Making A Lather

My start for purple and the rainbow scrap challenge.

 I cut fish school ( and keeping a close eye on them), and the QSTs for box kite border.

green projects from Making A Lather

First taste of green scraps for the rainbow scrap challenge. I made three hollow 9 blocks for my quilt project.




I dug through my 1 1/2 inch green scraps and cut sashings for my garlic knots ufo. 

I made hsts for fish school in green.


I sewed strip sets in green to make diffusion.

pink hollow nine from Making A Lather

I was anxious to see what pink lurks in the scrap drawers for the the rainbow scrap challenge. It is such fun to start a new color each month. I did manage to find enough 3 1/2 inch squares to sew 3 pink hollow nine squares.


I cut QSTS for a border for box kite, an older ufo. I hope it will all be cut by the end of the year... or sooner. I only need 28 each month and I cut 67. I was on a roll. I did cut all the parts to make fish school/kismet ...

Rainbow scrap challenge 2023 from Making A Lather

 The first project for my rsc uses hollow nine blocks. I am using 3 1/2 inch squares. I have a box full of 3 1/2 inch strips, and, I saw a quilt that uses these blocks in colors that I can do for the rainbow scrap challenge. I only need to make 3 in each color. I've tried to make the projects for this year a little easier, so, that, I can focus the rest of the time on cleaning out the UFO closet. Somehow, the rainbow projects take over, though.
